Is Krylon better than rustoleum? – Spray Paint Art Easy Nebula

The answer may surprise you. Krylon is an excellent quality paint (which is why, in spite of all the paint-splatter horror stories, it’s one of the most popular paints in the U.S.), but it also costs more — about $150 for a gallon of primer versus about $60 for a gallon of water. Rustoleum, on the other hand, is cheaper, and there’s not that much difference.

And that makes Krylon the clear choice for the job.

It’s not that Krylon is superior or that water is a much better cleaner (at least in my opinion). It’s just a lot cheaper and better suited to the task at hand, whereas water can be messy, smelly and smelly.

Which lead you to this little secret about Krylon: You can’t buy it for a whole lot cheaper than it actually costs.

Krylon is available in 50 gallons and 65 gallons and it’s available in four grades:

Krylon White

White is the top grade of Krylon. A clear coat with a finish like white primer, Krylon White is easy to blend with other colors, making it ideal for creating new looks and colors. Krylon White comes in 50 gallons and 65 gallons.

Krylon Black

Black is a matte finish with a finish like brown. Krylon Black makes an almost perfect gray- or bronze-based finish on most paints, but it is a very matte finish and may seem to be a little scratchy when mixed with other colors. Krylon Black is available in 60 gallons and 70 gallons.

Korlon Black

Black is a matte finish with a finish like gray/blue. Krylon Black doesn’t necessarily get better with age than Krylon White, but it looks better with age (in my judgment). If you buy Krylon Black in 60 gallons or 70 gallons, it’s more expensive than Krylon White. It’s also about 35 percent more expensive than Krylon Black, even though they’re the same grade.

Krylon Blue

A matte finish that’s perfect for making black. Krylon Blue is a bit stronger than Krylon Black, and can look especially wonderful on green. Again, it’s almost perfect for green, and I think it’s one of the most universally useful Krylon finishes. Krylon Blue is available in 65 gallons and 80 gallons.
