There are several different kinds of waltz. To be specific, there are the four styles of swing:
Punch and the Side Step
The punch and the side step are what most people think of when they hear the word waltz — the swinging motion along the side of the table.
There are two simple ways to do this: The same way you’d do it in a regular swing, and you’d use one hand to do the punching motion. Or, you could do it completely upside down, moving the head of the hand as though you’re making a kick. (If you’re an experienced player, you will know which one works better.)
If you’re a beginner, you could do a classic punch and side step with one hand and another to swing along the side of the table. If you’re a good player, you might want to try it for a while to see if it feels right.

The second type of waltz involves two steps instead of one.
This style involves keeping two hands on the table in a fist-up position. One hand is now in the hand of the person moving down the table, and the other is in the hand of the person coming up to the table. Then you let go of your hand and begin swinging yourself along the side of the table.
