What’s the least expensive?
I know what you’re thinking — you’re thinking the most expensive? That’s right. But I’ll be honest with you: the most expensive element in my collection is the entire house itself. At $70 million, one is tempted to call it a luxury item, but the reality is that it’s almost as rare as the car. You know the deal? For me, it’s a “lodging” item, and it’s not something I expect to get back very quickly either. So in the long run, that’s why this piece is a rare find, with a high price tag.
The best thing about owning your own estate is that you know you own one. What’s the worst thing?
What’s the worst thing? Well, I don’t have the luxury of thinking about all the negative factors that were involved with the sale or acquisition of my residence. In other words, I’m not prepared to go all the way back and look at my finances to see what my life was like before the house. The only thing I can do is what I’ve always done and that is, look at what I have now, and think about how I will handle anything in the future. There’s no need to worry about what might happen next year.
How did you go from living in your parents’ house in a gated community in Orange County to your own in a suburb?
I moved into my own property and a couple years later, I bought an apartment in that neighborhood and then about a year later, I bought a home right across from it (in a similar community). And in each case, the goal was to do the same thing. If the goal was to make a similar lifestyle for myself, then I had achieved that goal. But it is not something that I’m ready for right now. I am ready for one day that I won’t need a $40 million mansion, but one day I won’t need as many possessions of any kind.

Exactly.
What if things are going to be challenging or challenging and you haven’t been practicing being patient, or you were afraid of what the future might hold or whatever (laughs)?
