As the days of spring draw near, it is important to plant saffron bulbs during the hottest time of the year.
This helps maintain the plant’s health and protect it from frost damage. In addition, the light exposure, humidity and temperature should be warm enough to allow the saffron to absorb all the moisture you are giving it as well as provide plenty of light and light conditions.
Planting saffron bulbs should be done during the springtime (spring and early summer months), while the flowers are still green but not fully blossoming.
Once a year (spring), you can harvest saffron bulbs but please take them to your local flower shop as soon as they are grown.
