To learn about the principles and to practice them. That’s the main thing.
Do you have any tips/tricks for beginners?
First, there are all these little techniques that will really speed you up. To get the most out of it, I wouldn’t ever try anything that I’m not comfortable with.
How do you get a good look and feel for any piece of work?
If I draw it just well enough, it will look right by itself without any fussing. I’ve gotten used to doing that with some of my characters.
What is your personal favorite drawing technique?
I usually don’t get nervous drawing anything anymore. I think drawing really well can’t be taught. If you work at it, I see it happen. It’s just life and doing my best. There’s a lot of luck involved in drawing. It doesn’t have to be perfect. You’ve got to make it something you can look at with wonder.
Do you have any tips or tricks for newer artists?
Don’t be afraid to try things. It may not work, and if it doesn’t work, you’ll learn something! It may take you some practice, but if you give it a chance, you’ll learn something.
Any additional remarks/outlook on your art?
If you can’t see it, you don’t know it. The more you watch me, the more I see you’re trying to see it. I can show you a thing that nobody else can. I’ll give you a look that no one else can. This stuff is all about discovery and seeing things you just don’t see before. I want the viewer to feel as if you know every single inch.

A group of Israeli women has come up with an entirely new approach to promoting Israeli-Arab relations: asking men to “show us your legs.”
A number of posters are now up in Israeli neighborhoods with the text: “Come and show us your “legs”, so that we will show you how to be a good Jewish father.”
“It’s actually about showing solidarity with Israeli Arab men — showing a bit of compassion to Israeli Arab women so that the men will become better fathers,” one of the organizers of the campaign, Nava Karmi, told AFP.
The posters feature the text “Show us your legs,” as well as a man wearing a suit
