Yes. There are all kinds of drawing classes, art programs, and online education opportunities out there. I just want to be able to show my work to others and I want to have a good foundation for my work. What’s the process like? The first step should be to make a drawing from scratch. You need to find your favorite subject and a sketchbook or drawingpad. It will usually take an hour or so, so you might want to go early and plan ahead. I find that you don’t have to use many tools at all, just try to figure out what goes on in your mind. Sometimes the best way to figure out how to do something is to watch it. There are always plenty of movies or cartoons on YouTube, and they will show something different than what the artist is really thinking. Once you have your sketch, it’s time to go out there and capture the photo of it yourself – it will look amazing! It will probably take a few more hours, but don’t be discouraged – you didn’t even use all that time! If you look at some of the photos I have from different drawing classes here on Dazed , you’ll see a lot of amazing creations from people who are doing it for the first time. It will be a long and tedious process, but it’s an amazing way to learn. After you have what you learned down, you should make a more permanent print, if you wish. If you wish to go the other route, you can try drawing with a different surface. You can use white paper, or other surfaces to get the style you want. If you want something more difficult, it is possible to make an entire page of a different subject. You can start just from scratch, then work on it for a few weeks. When you are done, a finished page of the page you drew with will be ready. But the hardest thing about drawing is putting it up on social media. You have to do that first! If you want a photo to show people, it’s a good idea to use an original photograph. A picture is worth a million words!
The best part about trying to make your art is the sense of accomplishment and pride that comes along with it. Once you make, it will be much more difficult to take a photo.
What’s next? You’ll definitely need to get out there and start making some art, right? As an artist, you will have the time, patience, and determination needed to bring your work out to the world.
