Life coaches frequently ask you to reflect on your previous relationship and how your present relationship compares to that other relationship. You can ask them to compare your current relationship with another person. Here’s a quick outline of common questions:
Who is you with now?
What would you like your present relationship to be like?
What are your expectations for your future relationship? (Are you seeking to settle or do you are looking to become more? Why or why not?)
How do you see your relationship after you separate?
What do you think about your present and past relationships?
What is the best thing you can do for your relationship?
What are your values? What kind of relationships do you want to have? (Are you looking for happiness or security.)
What do you think is the most important thing in life?
Do you want to:
Start a new relationship?
Settle with someone else?
Change your life?
Have more money for a new job?
Buy a house?
Finish your degree?
Go back to school?
Don’t know how to start?
Do you want to stay in a relationship that lasts only two or three years?
Have you had enough of other people?
What do you want to change to make your life different?
What’s wrong with your relationship now?
What will it take to make your current relationship work?
What needs your new relationship to fulfill?
What do you hope your new relationship will be like?
Can you imagine how life would be different with someone who you have love for?
When you’re not asked these questions your life coach will often be asked to do something for you. He might buy you dinner or go out with you on the town. He might ask you to do something specific. Or just have him tell you things you might not have known to ask for.
When you do talk to a life coach it can give you a much more detailed perspective on your current relationship. How do you feel about your relationship? How do you see yourselves with someone else? Are you seeking to settle or do you want to become more? Because you know how important it is to have a good relationship with someone.
What are your thoughts on my present relationship? And are these your values?
