Do you know the difference between a job coach and a life advisor? If you don’t, you’ll love this video.
Why is it important to get started with a life coach? In my view, having a life coach allows you to understand what is going on in your life, which allows you to act to help. It also provides insight into your life’s purpose so, when you eventually decide to join the life coaching industry, you’ll be one more step closer to that goal.
So what is this all about?
My first life coach was a high school guidance counselor. When I was first starting off, I was completely lost and it was difficult for her to understand my plight. She told me I needed to “get into life” and “become better at life”, but she told me that for all the great things that I was doing in my life, I wasn’t doing enough. When she found out that I had started reading about the different types of life coaching and how they worked, she put me and a couple other aspiring coaches through a series of self-improvement tests, which I had taken myself years ago.
I found out that I possessed five personality traits, so those traits were clearly important to my future career as a life coach. If you have any of those, you might want to pick up your life coach license.
In the video you’ll learn what I call the “Five Cs” as we explore the different types and functions of a life coach – what is it that they do, how long do they take to run, and whether or not there’s a fee involved.
What kinds of things are you going to be doing during that course? Well, you’re going to learn everything from self development and emotional intelligence training to making sure you always stay on schedule. When it comes to setting goals, though, I always suggest starting right at the beginning.
As for the fee (or money), they are an expensive line of work, so don’t think that you’re going to make a fortune. However, I can say that I’ve been able to make very successful clients by investing my own money. It may sound a lot like coaching, but it’s actually more like teaching, and there is a HUGE difference.
