How many people can play it?
What is the standard of music in China?
What about classical music?
In Chinese culture, music is a very serious subject. When they were growing up, when they played the violin, in a house on the outskirts of the village, no one believed it. In the home of their parents, the violin was almost never taken apart. When they played, the family members played along. Nobody expected it.
There is a story about a person who, when he was 11 years old, played the violin. He was the best violinist for the village. But he was not invited to the village school. To his sorrow, his mother did not allow him to play. He felt it was important for him to play well, so he started to play. He played as well as anyone on the village school. So his mother came to the village school to see him. She was disappointed in him and said, “Do not be so happy. Don’t do this. You are not good enough!” So he gave up on his dreams to play and quit the violin. But they played even better as he lost the violin. Later to his surprise, he was asked to return to the violin. He was so happy he did not want to return. He played the violin when he was old enough. And today with our children, the violin is a part of our childhood and our adulthood, even if we don’t play it.

All the parents are encouraged to let their children teach themselves the traditional school music. There are also other students, such as students from other countries, or from other languages. They have to study the traditional music, too.
The traditional methods of music education can be found all over China, even in remote places. There are schools of “sound” music with music as the subject. There are traditional music schools with traditional methods of learning and teaching; there are music lessons for babies and children. But I personally find Chinese traditional music, which is taught with
