A: It depends on who you ask. Some claim it was a whole minute, while others say it lasted more than five minutes. There’s also a lot of debate and a lot of speculation on that score. It really does depend on who’s telling the story.
Who is the person whose music influenced this?
A: There seems to be a lot of interest from various artists and pop producers. When the clip was shot in 2007, we were filming in the back of a house where all the musicians were staying.
Who were the most influential artists that you encountered while filming?
A: It’s all about influence. Some of my favorite musicians came from the same region, some of the people we spoke to were very familiar with other people’s work, and some of them weren’t so familiar with what I did. Everyone has an opinion, but I can’t really say which artist had the most impact on what we was doing. I wouldn’t say it was just one person, but I think a lot of people influenced what we were doing.
Did anyone tell you, “Oh, you’re a genius artist”?
A: Not a single person told me that. For me personally, I just wanted to do anything that was creatively fun. But when we finished, all the music industry folks were like, “We think you’re a genius.” I don’t really know why.
Do you have any regrets?
A: I always have regrets, but I don’t think there were any regrets on this one. We definitely had a good time doing it.
What’s your biggest fear regarding these things?
A: For me, it’s the fear of getting rejected, so I always think about that. But also, not being able to take full advantage of my unique talents.
Do you want to go to any festivals this year?
A: This last year, I’ve been to five festivals in the U.S. and Australia. Not including festivals in the United States and Australia, I’ve been to five festivals and there are festivals in the states. I’m looking forward to going to more festivals. We want to give the fans something to look forward to, which is my number one goal: to give them something that they can’t find anywhere else. I think that’s what really makes us special.
