It’s like moving a ball on an uneven surface. You need to push with all your power, and with that power, you need to move with the opposite limb. So, when you’re in high school, you’re not getting in shape, and you have a lot of free time. You get a lot of physical activity. But then one of your friends comes up to you and says, “Hey, I want you to put on that boxing workout,” and you get really excited and go, “Yeah, I do!” and then you’re doing it in 10 minutes. In fact, you’re so excited and so focused and so focused that the next day, you look like you came out of a superhero movie.
All right, so what can you do to stay healthy? I think all these recommendations are good. But there’s also an even simpler thing: You need to be consistent with your diet. For example, when you’re overweight, you don’t have a choice as to what you eat. You just have some pretty limited options. If you eat too much, you start to overeat, and if you overeat, you start to feel hungry, and if you feel hungry, you begin to think the next meal will be better, so you over eat on days when you’re not hungry. The same thing comes when you’re underweight: You have a lot less choices, and you can make up your mind about what you’re going to eat a day. So, a lot of nutrition advice is really, really good, but it’s not enough. Sometimes even just making sure you eat a lot of your calories and getting your calorie needs met is a little bit of a challenge. Then, when you’re healthy and you’re doing some strength stuff with other athletes, you’re really looking to get as much out of your training as you can, and sometimes, you just have to break the cycle, and you have to go back and try a different type of training, which can get some calories in for you, but also some different ideas about how you’re going to build muscle.
