I’m a big fan of belly dancing (as I’ve written about several times before). I love how the whole thing is so flexible and gives you a lot of flexibility without compromising your balance and flexibility in other areas – a must if you want to do belly dancing for everyday.
However, I’ve always been wary of doing belly dancing because the only way it can achieve this flexibility is either with a full on belly dance class – a full on belly dance class! Or with a combination of belly dancing and cardio (which is a bit more challenging than just belly dancing itself I should say).
And I’m afraid that this is exactly what many people are thinking when they first get into belly dancing, although this method is very effective for many and it’s usually a lot cheaper than other methods as well, especially if you go for it on a full body workout day!
So before you dive into this technique, I’m going to show you 5 steps you can take to achieve good results and how it can be useful in your practice as well.
